Afton Chamber Holds Holiday Fundraiser Coffee Sale

The Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce has explored a number ways to raise the fund necessary to support the Chamber and to fund various community programs including the Business Scholarships awarded this year, the HOPE Church mitten and Christmas gift program and the printing of a new Shop Local brochure including the new 2014 members. It is critical to keep membership affordable to the many small businesses in our community, so other fund raising options are needed.

A number of events are in the planning for 2015, but a project was needed to provide income for 2014.

The Board of the Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with Java Joe’s Roasting Company to do a Holiday Coffee Sale fundraiser.  Java Joe’s Roasting Company has created a custom label with the Chamber logo for the coffee sales.  The Chamber will be purchasing 10 oz. bags of Parlor City blend coffee to sell for $12 a bag.  This will generate a $5 per bag profit for the Chamber.  The coffee is great for holiday meals and makes a wonderful Christmas present.

Parlor City Blend – “This quintessential blend combines the finest Central and South American coffees and is roasted between Full City and Vienna. Surely a great way to start the day with its moderate body and smooth finish.”

NBT has already agreed participate in the Holiday Coffee Sale at the Afton Branch, as well as Rainbow’s End Consignment Shop in Sidney.  Member businesses that serve a walk-in public are asked to display and sell the coffee.  All members are encouraged to sell a minimum of 5 bags of coffee.

Coffee will be delivered with an informational poster the week of November 17 to allow for sales for Thanksgiving.  Coffee may also be picked up at the November 17 Member/Business Development meeting or Rinker Insurance.  All money should be turned in to the Chamber by December 24th.
