Chamber Corner – Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce
December 1, 2016
The 70+ Business Members of the Greater Afton Area Chamber of Commerce would like to extend HOLIDAY GREETINGS to everyone in our communities and the wish for the most abundant, healthy and prosperous year to come filled with happiness and true good will towards your fellow man.
We as an organization thank you, our loyal customers, volunteers and supporters for your continued interest in the events and ongoing contributions that the Chamber and its members provide to our communities throughout the year. Our local businesses enhance the lifestyles, needs and desires of our public. It is a symbiotic relationship where neither can thrive without the other. We hope to continue to enhance the economy of each of our communities, and hope that you will continue to support us by using local services and shopping locally.
THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!!!
Holiday festivities get underway on Saturday, December 3rd with “Breakfast with Santa” at 7- 11 a.m. at the Afton VFW Hall on Main St. across from the NBT Bank Building. It’s an all-you-can-eat PANCAKE BREAKFAST with scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage, home fries, juice and coffee. Kids eat free, and a $6 donation per adult is appreciated.
The Friends of Afton Village group along with some happy helpers have cut down all of the cute trees you’ll see on Main Street. The businesses are getting ready to decorate them this week, not only for the holidays, but to prepare for Saturday, December 3, when the Village of Afton will hold its annual holiday parade. Everyone is invited to attend and to join in the treats and activities following the parade. There is no entry fee or form to fill out, so if you would like to participate with a float, or even walk with a group in the parade YOU CAN!!! Line up begins at 5p.m. at the Afton C.S. athletic fields and bus garage on Caswell Street. The parade starts at 5:30 p.m. and will be followed by fun activities and food. Last year’s parade saw over 30 floats and groups participating. It is great fun and a true start to the holiday season.
